Elderberry Tincture

Regular price Sale

Elderberry grows wild in the mountains around Salmon and much of the Pacific Northwest. The small blue-black berries are food for birds and wildlife, and when cooked or extracted, make some of the most widely used remedies for colds, cough, flu, and wintertime ailments. Useful as general immune system support or acutely at the first sign of illness.* For a sweeter option that may be more useful for soothing coughs and young children, try our Elderberry Syrup!

This tincture is either alcohol or glycerin-based. Glycerin extracts less of the plant material, but is recommended for young children or those sensitive to alcohol.

Ingredients: (alcohol) Local elderberries (Sambucus cerulea), water, grain alcohol (45% alcohol by volume). 1:2 herb : menstruum ratio

Ingredients: (glycerin) Local elderberries (Sambucus cerulea), vegetable glycerin, water (1:2 herb : menstruum ratio)

Suggested use: Take one dropperful (~ 40 drops) in water 1-4 times a day as needed. Best between meals.
